Each bench starts as a hand-selected solid hardwood slab — kiln-dried, surfaced flat, and finished to order with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil. Whether you need a 4ft entryway bench in black walnut, a 6ft dining bench in maple, or a live edge hallway piece in oak, we build to your exact length, depth, and leg height. Single slabs only — no finger joints, no veneers. Handcrafted in Canada and shipped coast to coast.

About Our Benches
Every bench we build starts with a single kiln-dried hardwood slab, hand-selected from our inventory for figure, grain clarity, and structural integrity. No finger joints. No veneers. No plywood cores. Just solid wood, built to sit for decades.
Wood Species
We work primarily in black walnut, hard maple, and white oak — though other domestic and exotic species are available on request. Each species brings a different character: walnut for its deep chocolate grain and warmth; maple for its clean, consistent figure and light tone; oak for its bold ring-porous texture and durability. We'll help you choose the right species for your space, use case, and budget.
Edge Profiles
Live edge — the natural bark edge of the slab is preserved and cleaned, giving each piece a one-of-a-kind organic profile
Straight edge — clean, milled edges for a more contemporary or minimalist look; available with square, eased, or bevelled profiles
Leg Options
All benches ship with your choice of solid steel legs in a range of profiles — hairpin, rectangular flat bar, trapezoid, and others. Leg height is fully customizable; standard bench seat height is 17–18 inches, but we build to whatever your space demands.
Finish
All benches are finished with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil — a food-safe, plant-based finish that penetrates the wood rather than sitting on top. Available in natural and a range of stain tones including white wash, smoke, and aged. Samples available on request.
Custom Sizing
Standard bench lengths run from 3ft to 8ft, but we build beyond that on request.
